About NeuralNest
HighScore is developed and operated by NeuralNest, founded in March 2024.
What we build
NeuralNest is a software company based in South Korea. Our product, HighScore (하이스코어), is a grade-management app for Korean high school students. It brings school grades and mock exam results into one place, calculates scores for early (수시) and regular (정시) university admissions, and shows how each subject is trending over time.
Our history
NeuralNest was founded in March 2024. That is when our founder registered the business that now develops and operates HighScore. Before then, the app was a personal project, not a company.
What's next
- In development — AI admissions counselor, admission chance prediction, and admissions guide search, built with Claude. None of these have launched yet (see What we're building with Claude).
NeuralNest (since March 2024)
- March 2024 — Our founder registered NeuralNest as a business to run the service full-time and rebuild the app as HighScore.
- October 2025 — NeuralNest relaunched 내신계산기 as HighScore.
Before NeuralNest: our founder's personal project (2019 – February 2024)
- 2019 — Our founder started 내신계산기 ("School Grade Calculator") as a personal project to make grade calculation easier for high school students.
- March 2020 — 내신계산기 was first released on the App Store, still as a personal project.

Traction
As of September 2026:
- 30,000+ downloads across iOS and Android
- 4,000 registered users
- 1,900 monthly active users
- 30,000 grade records stored
- Used by students at about 55% of high schools in South Korea
- 4.8 average rating on the App Store and Google Play
What we're building with Claude
We use Claude, Anthropic's AI model, across our development and operations today:
- A security agent built on the Claude API that scans our code for vulnerabilities and reports what it finds
- A bug-report agent that analyzes server logs and Google Analytics 4 data to produce a report for each incoming bug report
- Claude for day-to-day development and research
These are internal tools. Students do not interact with Claude in the HighScore app today. Next, we plan to build:
- AI admissions counselor — answers questions about application strategy based on the student's grades and each university's admission guidelines
- Admission chance prediction — shows admission chances by university and major based on the student's grades and past admission results
- Admissions guide search — finds university admission guidelines and past results and shows the sources, built with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
Most of our users are high school students under 18. Before any of these features launch, we will update our privacy policy, terms of service, and this page to describe what data each feature uses and how its responses are reviewed.
